Our smudge roller can be used directly on the skin.

Smudge is traditionally used to cleanse and purify using plant, resin, or wood smoke to remove heavy or negative energy from around the body and home. We have created a blend using the essential oils of the plants used to smudge.

We have used one of the four sacred medicines, cedar, distilled white eastern cedar essential oil from local trees here in the Muskoka area. We harvest the bows from several cedars, and distill the evergreens in a copper alembic still, creating a beautiful hydrosol and essential oil.

Our Palo Santo comes from a cooperative in Ecuador, the smoke from this sacred dried wood creates a sweet smoke, the essential oil is musky, sweet, and deeply earthy.

Western mugwort is a story book in itself, in scent, history and lore. This plant has been used by many cultures. Indigenous peoples in Canada have used the plant for cleansing smoke in ceremonies for centuries, as well as as a plant ally in external and internal herbal remedies. The essential oil is fresh, herbaceous, camphoric and bitter.

This aromatherapy blend represents the coming together of the 4 directions, 4 colours on the medicine wheel, and the 4 sacred medicines. Cedar, here in Ontario, represents the direction of south, and is red on the medicine wheel of the Anishinaabe teachings. Western mugwort which is a kind of sage, is represented by the north, and is white. Palo Santo from South America weaves the South (cedar) and North (sage) together into a divine union.
